Harry Potter Mattel Deluxe Creature Collection

The Deluxe Creature Collection consists of figures which are all non-human and larger than other Harry Potter Mattel figures.

Series 1

The first set of Deluxe Creatures was released in 2001 to coincide with the movie release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Mattel released the Deluxe Creature figures alongside the Sorcerer’s Stone Wizard Collection figures.

Hagrid

Hagrid rescued Harry Potter when he was a baby and placed him in the care of his only living relatives, the Dursleys. Eleven years later, Hagrid returns to help Harry prepare for his journey to Hogwarts. Once there, this kind but fierce-looking giant still watches out for Harry as surely as he cares for all the magical creatures he loves. Especially Norbert, the baby dragon he hatched from an egg.

Fluffy

As guardian of the Sorcerer's Stone, Fluffy, the three-headed guard dog with fierce fangs, ghastly growl and three drooling mouths, would surely keep anyone away! But not Professor Snape, who learns firsthand that as bad as Fluffy's bark is - his bite is far, far worse! Harry and Hermione lull the beast into sleep with music from Hagrid's flute.

Mountain Troll

Standing twelve feet tall, with a small bald head and flat, lumpy feet, the Mountain Troll smells as bad as his attitude. And when he grunts and points at you, you know you're in for a difficult time. But as Harry, Ron, and Hermione discover trolls are quite stupid and can be easily outwitted.

Series 2

The second set of Deluxe Creatures was released in 2002 to coincide with the movie release of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Mattel released the Deluxe Creature figures alongside the Chamber of Secrets Wizard Collection figures.

Knight

In their quest for the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry, Ron, and Hermione become live chess pieces in an enchanted chess game. With great courage and a mastery of chess moves, Ron directs his friends across the board - eventually sacrificing himself so Harry can checkmate the king!

Norbert

Norbert, a rare Norwegian Ridgeback dragon, hatches from a big, black egg in Hagrid’s hut. After tripling in size after only a week, Hagrid must find other accommodations for his “pet” before it grows bigger than his house.

Centaur

Creature of the forbidden forest! The centaur has great detail in both his human and horse halves. Legs move and he comes with a crossbow.

Aragog

The terror of the Forbidden Forest, this huge arachnid is completely poseable as his legs are fully articulated and his mandibles open and close.
